The Orphans of Cathorna
Granddaughter, skirmisher, troublemaker
Reputedly the orphaned granddaughter of the village leader, 25 year old Neeshka is a relentlessly inquisitive troublemaker. She has ‘sneaked’ into Chaudra’s study at least twice, the second time setting off magical alarms that woke the entire community and saw the militia called out. Visiting traders and others regularly find themselves fleeced by her in games of chance, all of which the locals have quickly learned are less chancy for her than for others. A talented horse rider and a dead shot with a bow or a thrown knife, she gets by doing various jobs for the community, particularly escorting fruit and other harvests being brought in, running errands and deliveries to distant towns and providing rudimentary accounting services for the council, being one of few residents with a good head for numbers. Something of a flirt, her attendance at militia training is guaranteed to increase turnout among the younger men of the community. She owns a chain shirt and bracers handed down from her grandfather, and a slender rapier of uncertain provenance.
Her occasional adventures with Second Skirmish have revealed a clear talent for climbing, archery, a questionable talent for boating and an abundant thirst for adventure beyond the gardens of the Redoubt.
